turn off subtopics list ? --simon, Wed, 06 Jun 2007 12:05:38 -0700 reply
How do y'all feel about turning off the automatic list of subtopics shown on each page ? I've found it simplifies some wikis. It would mean adding more links by hand.

Simon, I think a shorter list would be fine, it seems the 'Contents' page is for listing everything. -Kent

I would like to see only the top-level subtopics: Technical proposals, code, documentation, etc.

Ok, currently I can do that in two ways:
- keep automatic subtopics enabled, but give the front page a different markup (structured text + embedded DTML). One more thing to confuse wiki editors.
- drop automatic subtopics, make those links by hand - including on those pages that rely heavily on subtopics like Code.
By-hand links --edreamleo, Wed, 06 Jun 2007 15:23:33 -0700 reply
The simplest way is good. By-hand links don't bother me at all.

Ok, thanks for the nudge. I have converted the wiki to manual links. Also, I've enabled the mail-in address for wiki subscribers - firstname.lastname@example.org, by which I'm sending this reply.

..and hidden the page management form that was at the bottom of all pages (now available only in editform).
